Good Sense Design, LLC to Nationally Launch its Eco-Friendly Lunchboxes at The Green Festival in San Francisco, November 14-16, 2008
An Oregon mother fills a void for brown baggers and school children
EUGENE, OR, November 02, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nancy Owen Myers, owner and founder of Good Sense Design, LLC, will be in attendance at The Green Festival in San Francisco November 14-16, 2008 to officially debut the Lunchsense product line to a national audience. Good Sense Design, LLC offers a line of durable, non-vinyl, machine-washable lunch boxes, dubbed Lunchsense, with reusable BPA-free leak-proof food containers and drink bottle, and an ice pack to preserve the contents.
"A lunchbox should be easy to clean completely, leaving no 'sour milk' smell. We agreed early on that the box should be machine washable" said Myers. "It should also be easy to pack a lunch box with portion-size appropriate containers that any child can open and close without spilling."
The idea for Lunchsense began in 2006, when family friend Lisa King expressed her frustration about the difficulty in finding safe and effective containers to pack her children's school lunches. Nancy used her sewing skills to created 10 prototypes before finally creating a unique design that folded out into a placemat and allowed the food containers to fit perfectly in the lunch box. The design process truly became a "family affair" as she was aided along the way by her husband Mike, a former engineer, and Lisa's husband Peter, an architect. In spring 2007, their children began carrying the lunch boxes to school. By June 2007 Nancy began taking orders from local parents. Lunchsense launched its first Web site and began taking online orders in March 2008.
"From the very beginning, Lunchsense lunch boxes were designed to be practical for parents and environmentally safe for children," explained Myers. "The Green Festival is a logical venue to nationally debut Lunchsense because it is a large gathering of environmentally conscientious individuals who are seeking practical solutions."
