Jim Tait, owner of The Tait Gallery, has been perfecting his skills as a ship, seascape and landscape oil painter nearly 50 years ago and is known as the best marine artist in Europe.

LERWICK, UK, January 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jim Tait, owner of The Tait Gallery, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for his superb skills as a seascape artist.

After decades of work in a variety of industries, Mr. Tait turned his lifetime hobby of oil painting into a full-time occupation by setting up shop in The Tait Gallery five years ago. He has been perfecting his skills as a ship, seascape and landscape oil painter nearly 50 years ago and is known as the best marine artist in Europe. Born in Baltasound, Shetland in 1948, Mr. Tait has lived with the sea as his neighbor all his life and he has drawn inspiration from its many moods. Mr. Tait will be holding an exhibition on the theme of the Moray Firth fishing vessels of the 1950s and 1960s at Duff House, Banff, Scotland, from June to October 2009. Earlier in 2009, he hopes to put on another show at the Shetland Museum in Lerwick. Mr. Tait attributes his success to his dedication, determination and passion for his profession.
